From the yogic perspective Durga is the essence of all nature, the primordial. ‘Durg’ in Sanskrit means gate, which allows for illumination within and without, that heightened level of perception where all potential becomes available to the seer.
The clearer your perception, the more that is possible for you.
Durga was created by Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, to slay the demon Mahisasura. She is usually depicted riding a lion and with 8 or 10 arms, each holding a weapon.
The demon she slays represents the negative mind. From every drop of his blood another demon appears. This represents how one negative thought can multiply. As there is infinity in one direction, there is also infinity in the other direction.
You have to realise your part in the problem, the role you play. The most important part is your consciousness state.
Durga rides the lion. When we awaken that Shakti within ourselves, that lioness roars. An immense roar of awakening happens and it drowns out everything else. None of the toxicity we engage in can withstand it. For you to have problems in your life, you have to remain attached to your own inner weakness.
The wise one is not concerned about solving the problem. She takes away the field in which the problem grows.
Durga resides at the junction point of the Absolute and the relative. This is from where everything emerges, the potential of all creation. She births all. When you access that point, there is a revolution. It changes you. It is the transformative power of accessing infinity.
She is that fierce power of supreme intelligence that can wipe out all avidya, all ignorance.
Durga represents divine feminine power, focus, and strength. She is creation, nourishment, and destruction rolled into one. She knows her power. She does not need validation or approval and she is not looking to be understood.
Durga is deeply self-respecting and represents the end of self-denial and self-sabotage. She is balanced, courageous, and claws through layers to pierce through stories and drama. She is grounded, stable and steadfast. She has immense staying power.
Durga is the Goddess of the forest who rides on lions, ever wild and free, always riding into her power. When entering spaces she asks, “How can I serve?”
Chaitra Navaratri, the Navaratri of Spring, the 9 night of the Goddess starts on the 22nd of March 2023, and is a time for self-reflection, purification, and spiritual growth.
Navaratri is a celebration of light over darkness, so this is a great time to change your habits, to let go of what you have been holding on to, to move forward on your path.⠀⠀
Durga is a supremely dynamic, intelligent being. No half-action is there. She takes full, clear action, accessing that infinite potential. She is the dynamic potential of illumination.
Invoke the presence of Durga with Ritika on Sattva Connect. Experience the Goodess within. Use the energy to lift yourself up, to clear out anything that has been holding you back and to step into your goddess nature. Meet Durga and taste liberation! Jai Durga Ma!
