Wanting is a state of consciousness and yet wanting and desire are two different movements in consciousness.
Wanting creates a state of dis-ease in where we are. In that wanting, there is restlessness with what is. The mind is constantly seeking something else, to go somewhere else, rather than being right here.
In that wanting, there is a longing to manipulate, “How can I manipulate here to get there.” In that wanting, there is never enough. The hunger of the mind knows no end.
In the state of wanting, the individual can never really experience true peace, a true state of gratefulness, because the moment they do, the wanting disappears. The vision might remain, what the individual wants to contribute, what his or her life stands for, but this sense of constantly seeking something to fill a hole, that endless vritti, that haunting, ends.
So, as we evolve, it’s important to watch this constant hunger of the mind which arises. It’s a movement of the mind and when you observe this wanting arise, let it peak and disappear, coming more and more to peace in this moment, finding that deep grace, that experience of love and gratefulness here, then you start transcending wanting.
Plug yourself in to universal intelligence. Experience the magic this moment offers.
When we are in the state of wanting, we do stupid things which lead to suffering. We constantly confuse unhappiness as happiness. It leads us to addiction, addictive behaviour. It leads us to constantly pushing ourselves and it logs in deeper and deeper levels of stress.
A great practice for this is to begin to witness within yourself whenever you are moving from a place of wanting, neediness, meaning you are not fundamentally experiencing life as peace or joy.
In the state of wanting, the fundamental experience of life is existential burden.
This is where I am and this is where I would rather be. This is who I am and who I would rather be. This is what I have and what I would rather have. And the gap in between is filled by wanting.
This wanting weakens our magnetism. It creates a victim mentality but as you start to align with the peace, the presence in you, as you start transcending the wanting, there is a natural self-love, a natural state of gratefulness that arises in you.
And when you project your vision from that place, that state of consciousness, it is powerful. It’s magnetic. It’s that power that manifests. It allows you to experience the true potential of you. It’s not a struggle anymore, because all that you envision already exists. You don’t have to fight. You will take action but not from a place of wanting. Instead, it will be from a place of fulfilment, peace, contentment. You will know which one you are acting from.
Contentment, that feeling of gratefulness, that peace, is not against evolution, vision, creativity. It will, in fact, refine and boost your creativity, your magnetism. So, come to peace and work from there.
